Emily is based at the MIT Scheller Teacher Education Program and works in roles that crisscross the MIT campus and K-12 learning initiatives. She designs playful teaching tools with teams of researchers, K-12 teachers, and undergraduates – including assessment tools for maker education and games for learning science. Prior to her work in education research, she managed Terrascope, an experiential learning community at MIT for environmental problem-solving. She holds a B.A. from Boston University and is pursuing an M.S. in library and information science and school library teacher licensure at Simmons University.
